The access of women to justice remains glaring problem in Shabunda. Customary courts handle different issues linked to breaches in the villages. Customs and local institutions are not protect women. Like result, women do not know who to turn to claim their rights. This area has recently benefited from the construction of a police court, built in Shabunda center. But the court is not operational because of judges who are affected. The installation of a single court in Shabunda is insufficient. Because this area has more than 25,200 square kilometers, the 5/6th of Belgium. In the framework of exchange and training on the rights of women, some Non-Governmental Organizations and run educational programs for girls, women’s literacy and learning trades.
